Child's wish to meet skating star granted

July 26, 2002

PORTLAND, Ore. - July 26, 2002 – The Make-A-Wish Foundation®, the largest wish-granting charity in the world, and Domino's Pizza, the recognized world leader in pizza delivery, today delivered the wish of nine-year-old Bonich of Wilsonville, OR, to meet and ice skate with her favorite star, Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan.

"Bonich has been looking forward to this day for weeks and is thrilled that Domino's fulfilled her very special wish," said Shari Poindexter, representative of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon.  "We applaud Domino's community spirit and are excited by their commitment to deliver wishes across the country."

Bonich, along with her parents and sister, enjoyed a fun-filled day: a limo ride from their home in Wilsonville to the Fifth Avenue Suites Hotel in downtown Portland for a Domino's Pizza pre-party; a new outfit to celebrate the night in style and a night's stay at the hotel with her family.  In addition, she received a preview of the warm-up portion of the Champions on Ice show; an opportunity to glide across the ice with Michelle Kwan and VIP tickets to the fabulous Champions on Ice performance.

"We're thrilled to be able to help deliver Bonich's wish," said Mark Pectol, local Domino's Pizza franchisee.  "Domino's is committed to serving the community, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation is a very special organization.  We are extremely pleased and honored to have the opportunity to impact these amazing kids' lives in a positive and fun way."

As part of their national partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, "Domino's Delivers Incredible Wishes," every month Domino's Pizza sponsors and delivers a wish to an eligible Make-A-Wish® child.
