OLIVE BRANCH, Miss., June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Shifflett Enterprises, owned by Domino's franchisee Jason Shifflett, won a Stevie Award for Best Franchisee in the 2005 American Business Awards last week.

Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" by the New York Post (April 27, 2005), The American Business Awards are the first national, all- encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," the awards were presented during ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The ceremonies were hosted by CNN personality Ali Velshi, videocast live on the Internet, and broadcast nationwide on radio. Donald J. Trump received the first Lifetime Achievement Stevie Award.

At the young age of 28, Jason Shifflett owns seven Domino's Pizza stores, employing more than 220 team members. In 2004, he won his won 4th consecutive Gold Franny Award in 2004 for operational excellence. The Gold Franny is the most prestigious honor bestowed on a Domino's franchisee. Additionally, in 2004 Shifflett increased sales by 10 percent over 2003 while also honoring nearly every donation request made by the community.

More than 1,200 nominations from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie winners from among the Finalists. Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in February through April.
