The Make-A-Wish Foundation® and Domino's Deliver Incredible Wish to Detroit Child

May 8, 2002

DETROIT, Mich., May 8, 2002 - The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Michigan, and Domino's Pizza, the recognized world leader in pizza delivery, today delivered 10-year-old Sierra of Detroit, Michigan, her wish to have her very own personal computer.   After spending time in the hospital using a borrowed computer to keep up-to-date with school work, Sierra, who suffers from Sickle Cell, a disorder that causes red blood cells to be crescent shaped and results in chronic anemia, weakness and fatigue, realized when she returned home how much she missed playing and learning on the computer.

"Sierra has been looking forward to this day for weeks and is absolutely thrilled that Domino's is sponsoring her very special wish," said Jeannette Porter, public relations manager for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan.  "We're  delighted to partner with Domino's and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future."

Sierra was surprised by the Domino's team, who delivered a computer, printer, scanner, digital camera, educational software, computer games, a desk with a chair, many other goodies and, of course, pizza to Sierra's home in Detroit.

"To see the look on Sierra's face when she opened the door and saw the huge computer boxes was priceless," said Daryl Clark , local Domino's Pizza store manager. "Domino's is committed to serving the community and the Make-A-Wish Foundation is a very special organization.  We are extremely pleased and honored to have the opportunity to impact the lives of these amazing kids in a positive and fun way."

As part of their national partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, "Domino's Delivers Incredible Wishes," every month Domino's Pizza sponsors and delivers a wish to an eligible child who is awaiting their wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation..
